Only produced in the best years, this wine is a blend of 85% Sangiovese and 15% Colorino, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon from the Chianti Classico vineyards of Ruffino?s estates of Santedame, Montemasso and Gretole. Aged for three years in a range of small and large oak casks, the wine is full-bodied, rich and smooth with a complex palate of developed cherry and plum fruit flavours, mingling with Mediterranean herbs, like balsam and rosemary, as well as spicy, floral notes.
