In 1716, Grand Duke Cosimo III of Tuscany declared the now known Chianti Classico area between Florence and Siena the best for growing grapes to make Chianti. A wonderfully refined nose is full of ripe plum and cherry aromas, filled out by tantalizing spicy notes. The fruit-forward palate is luscious with sweet toasty oak flavours blended with bitter chocolate and ripe raspberry.
