A blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc; the vines are about 40 years old and grow on clay and limestone soils. All grapes are harvested by hand and are then sorted and de-stemmed before fermentation in thermo-regulated, cement tanks, each parcel vinified separately. The wines are aged for about a year: 60% in tank, 20% new oak barrels and 20% is second-use oak barrels. The wine is concentrated, with firm, chewy tannins, plump fruit and shows a typical right-bank profile.
